Hot Air Jubilee

Hot-air balloon festival held each July at Jackson County Airport

The Hot Air Jubilee is a three-day balloon festival held on the third weekend of July at the Jackson County Airport. Around 40 balloons fly in mass ascensions at dawn and dusk on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, weather permitting, with a glowing balloon "nightglow" on the Saturday evening that draws the bigger crowds.

The festival has run since 1983 and is the largest event of its kind in Michigan. Tethered rides are usually offered for a fee, and the airfield hosts a fair-style midway with food trucks and a small craft market.
