Bellisio's, in Canal Park, is one of the best-regarded Italian restaurants in Duluth, with a menu of Italian-American dishes that goes beyond the standard red-sauce canon. The pasta is made in-house, the wines are well-chosen, and the room — wood-panelled with a warm, slightly clubby feel — suits the northern-lake-city atmosphere well.
The location in Canal Park means it can get busy with tourists in summer. The food justifies the prices; the lake trout when available is excellent. Reservations are recommended on weekends.
