Fitger's Brewery Complex

Fitger's Brewery, a handsome Romanesque Revival complex of red brick buildings on the lake shore north of Canal Park, was a working brewery from 1882 to 1972. Now converted into a complex of restaurants, bars, a boutique hotel, and shops, it retains much of its industrial character — exposed brick, heavy timber beams, and the original brewery equipment visible in the common areas.

The Fitger's Brewhouse is the anchor tenant: a brewpub producing a rotating selection of ales, lagers, and seasonals, with a menu of substantial food to match. The outdoor deck overlooking Lake Superior is one of the better places to drink in Duluth on a clear day. Other bars and restaurants in the complex include the Tap Room and several smaller options. The whole complex is worth an evening stroll even if you only stop for one drink.
