At 1,370 acres, Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States — roughly 500 acres bigger than Central Park. It hosted the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition, the World's Fair that drew 19 million visitors. Today it holds the St. Louis Art Museum, History Museum, Science Center, the free zoo, the Jewel Box greenhouse, and The Muny open-air theatre, all free to enter. A 7.5-mile path circles the park for walking, cycling, and skating.
