Laumeier Sculpture Park, on a former private estate in south St Louis County, holds about 60 large-scale outdoor sculptures across 105 acres of woods, meadows, and grass. It is one of the oldest dedicated sculpture parks in the United States — opened in 1976 — and the works are spread among walking trails that turn a visit into a long, varied stroll.
The collection emphasises monumental modernist and contemporary work: pieces by Beverly Pepper, Mark di Suvero, Ernest Trova, and Donald Lipski are among the highlights. Free admission; modest charge for the indoor gallery. The park hosts an annual art fair on Mother's Day weekend that draws hundreds of artists and is one of the city's bigger outdoor events.
