Sheldon Concert Hall

Intimate 1912 concert hall noted for exceptional acoustics

The Sheldon is a small, beautifully proportioned concert hall in the Grand Center arts district, built in 1912 and noted nationally for the quality of its acoustics. The 700-seat hall has been compared to the chamber music rooms of Vienna; performers consistently rate it among the best small venues in the country to play.

The programme runs to chamber music, jazz, and singer-songwriters who prefer the acoustic intimacy of the room. The attached Sheldon Art Galleries hold rotating exhibitions of photography and music memorabilia. Ticket prices are reasonable; the experience is closer to a private concert than the standard concert-hall format.
