The 1896 Richardsonian Romanesque sandstone building was Great Falls' original high school, named for the founder of the city. It now houses a regional contemporary art museum with a strong collection of Montana artists and a programme of rotating exhibitions.
The galleries occupy the old classrooms and corridors, and the building is itself worth the visit — heavy stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and the original wooden staircase. Admission is by donation.
