Pattee Canyon Recreation Area is a trail network in the hills southeast of Missoula. Its roughly 27 miles of non-motorized trails are used for hiking, mountain biking, running, and cross-country skiing in winter.
The area is a practical local escape rather than a big scenic landmark, but it is a solid choice if you want forest trails close to town. There is a picnic area and vault toilets at the trailhead, but no water.
