Carson City's dining options have improved steadily as the city has grown. The downtown strip has a good range, from the local staples that have been here for decades to newer spots catering to the tech workers commuting from Reno. Basque cuisine has a presence throughout Nevada from the Basque shepherds who settled here; a few establishments still serve the traditional family-style dinners.
