Joël Robuchon at the MGM Grand

Three-Michelin-star French tasting menu, the Strip's classic special-occasion meal

Address 3799 Las Vegas Blvd South

The American flagship of the late Joël Robuchon — once the most-Michelin-starred chef in history — sits inside the MGM Grand and holds the Strip's only three-star rating. The dining room is decked out like a Paris drawing room of the 1920s: chandeliers, velvet, polished wood, and a small bread cart rolled tableside that holds more than a dozen choices. Tasting menus run sixteen courses and cost accordingly.

For something half the price and almost as good, walk next door to L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon — a counter-style sister restaurant where you sit at the bar and watch the cooks plate every dish. The signature pommes purée (more butter than potato) appears at both. Reserve well in advance; jackets are encouraged though no longer strictly required in the main dining room.
