Historic Cold Spring Village

A 30-acre open-air museum about 4 miles north of Cape May, recreating life in a rural South Jersey village around 1830. Twenty-five restored buildings — a blacksmith, a printer, a one-room schoolhouse, a tinsmith, an inn — are staffed by interpreters in period dress demonstrating their crafts.

Open weekends in spring and daily through summer. It is the most child-friendly attraction in the area after the beach, and the on-site bakery and beer garden (the latter run by Cape May Brewing Company) make it easy for parents to keep going. Closed in winter.
