Getting There

Most visitors drive. From the north, take the Garden State Parkway south to its end — it deposits you right in Cape May. From the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95), take Exit 11 to the Parkway. From the south, the Cape May–Lewes Ferry crosses Delaware Bay from Lewes, Delaware, a scenic 85-minute crossing.

The nearest major airport is Philadelphia International, about a two-hour drive. Atlantic City Airport is closer (45 miles) but has limited service. Newark is about two and a half hours away. There is no direct rail service to Cape May — the closest you can get by train is Atlantic City, from where NJ Transit buses run south. From New York, buses to Atlantic City leave from Port Authority, with a connection onward to Cape May.
