Washington Street

Washington Street is Hoboken's spine — fourteen blocks running north from the Terminal, lined with bars, restaurants, boutiques, brownstones, and the occasional grand colonial-revival church. It is where the city does most of its evening living, and where every visit to Hoboken should at least pass through.

Walk the whole length and you'll move from the brick-and-iron commercial blocks near the station, through clusters of pizza places and Italian delicatessens that anchor mid-Washington, up to quieter, more residential blocks at the north end. Sunday brunch on weekends turns the street into one long terrace.
