The New Brunswick train station is a working stop on the Northeast Corridor, where NJ Transit trains to New York Penn Station run every half hour during the day and Amtrak's Northeast Regional and Acela stop several times a day in each direction. The 1903 station building, restored in the 2000s, has a brick and limestone facade and a small waiting room with original wood benches.
The station is the practical centre of New Brunswick — most students arrive here, and most visitors will use it. New York Penn is about 45 minutes; Philadelphia 30th Street is around 70 minutes. The Bus to Newark Liberty Airport leaves from outside.
