Aztec's draws are specific and genuine. The Ruins are one of the finest preserved Ancestral Pueblo sites in the Southwest and the only reason most visitors come. Beyond that, the Animas River corridor and the Four Corners landscape offer good hiking and access to Angel Peak's badlands. The downtown historic district is compact and worth a slow walk.
