Clovis is at the junction of US-60, US-70 and US-84, about 100 miles west of Amarillo, Texas and 220 miles east of Albuquerque. By road it is a long, level drive across the High Plains either way.
The town has a municipal airport (CVN) but no regular commercial passenger service; the nearest major airport is Amarillo (AMA), about an hour and forty minutes' drive east.
Amtrak's Southwest Chief stops at Clovis once a day in each direction on its run between Chicago and Los Angeles — one of the few remaining long-distance passenger trains in the southwest. The depot is on 1st Street downtown and the platform sits next to the original AT&SF Mission Revival station building.
