Riverside Nature Center is a useful soft landing in Farmington: close to town, easy to visit, and focused on the riparian habitat along the San Juan River. Exhibits introduce local plants, wildlife, and river ecology, while the surrounding paths give you a chance to look for birds without committing to a long desert drive.
It works best as a quiet morning or late-afternoon stop, especially if you are travelling with children or want a break between bigger Four Corners excursions. The center also ties into the Animas and San Juan trail system, so it can be folded into a walk or bike ride along the water.
