Lake Placid has the après-ski culture you would expect from a ski town. The Lake Placid Pub and Brewery on Main Street is the main bar, with a good selection of house-brewed ales and a lively atmosphere after a day on the mountain. CDR Coffee on Main Street is the morning coffee stop, with good espresso and pastries.
Nicola's Over Main is a smaller wine bar upstairs on Main Street with a good selection of American wines and a quieter atmosphere than the pub. In summer, the bar at the Lake Placid Lodge (a high-end resort on the lake) is worth knowing about for drinks with views; it requires a reservation but non-guests can often sit at the bar.
