The Point

Wide sand spit at Bogue Inlet, loved for shelling, sunsets, and long beach walks.

The Point is the broad, shifting beach at Emerald Isle's western end, where Bogue Inlet opens between Bogue Banks and Bear Island. It is the best walk in town: open sand, surf on one side, inlet water on the other, and a big sky that makes sunset feel earned.

Access changes with parking rules, tides, and storms, so check locally before assuming you can drive close. The walk is part of the appeal anyway, especially outside the hottest part of the day.
