Catawba Science Center is the family-friendly half of the SALT Block. Exhibits lean hands-on, with natural science displays, aquarium galleries, touch tanks, and a digital planetarium.
It is not a reason to cross the state by itself, but paired with the art museum next door it gives Hickory a useful culture-and-science core.
