National Aviation Hall of Fame

Located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base adjacent to the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the National Aviation Hall of Fame honours the individuals who made American aviation history. Inductees include the Wright Brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, Chuck Yeager, and Neil Armstrong, as well as engineers, designers, and test pilots less known to the general public.

The museum is small and can be done in 45 minutes to an hour, but it works well as a complement to the Air Force Museum next door. Interactive exhibits let visitors explore each inductee's story, and the wall of portraits gives the place a peculiar but effective gravity — this is genuinely where the aviation world honours its own.
