Pugh's Mill Covered Bridge

A restored 19th-century covered bridge in Oxford's Black Covered Bridge area

Pugh's Mill Covered Bridge, also known locally as the Black Covered Bridge, is a handsome remnant of rural Butler County just outside Oxford. Its timber truss, red siding, and creek setting make it an easy photographic stop, especially if you are already exploring the Miami University Natural Areas.

The bridge is not a major attraction by itself, but it earns its place because Oxford's appeal is partly in these quick shifts from college town to wooded lanes. Combine it with a walk nearby rather than treating it as a standalone destination.
