Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center

The Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center, opened in 2008, is the main cultural venue in the city and a genuinely capable space for a suburb of 115,000. The Kristin Chenoweth Theatre (named for the Broken Arrow native and Tony Award winner) hosts local productions, touring shows, and the Broken Arrow Symphony as well as high school performances from the nationally recognized Broken Arrow arts program.

The building is on Main Street in the Rose District, making it easy to combine with a meal or a drink before or after a show. Programming tends toward crowd-pleasing — musicals, comedy, classical concerts — with occasional ambitious productions mixed in. Check the schedule for current listings.

A story
The main stage of the Performing Arts Center is named for Kristin Chenoweth, who was born in Broken Arrow in 1968 and went on to win a Tony Award for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Chenoweth has remained connected to the city and contributed to the theater's capital campaign. Broken Arrow's most internationally known native is a Broadway and television actress — which says something about the town's cultural aspirations.
