Black Gold Days Festival

Every May, Glenpool holds its Black Gold Days festival, a three-day celebration of the 1905 oil boom that put this part of Oklahoma on the map. The event draws several thousand visitors with food stalls, live music, arts and crafts vendors, a carnival, and a parade through the town.

It is a modest, genuinely local event — nothing like the big state fairs of Oklahoma City or Tulsa — but that is part of its charm. If you are in the Tulsa area in May and want to see small-town Oklahoma at its most engaged, Black Gold Days offers exactly that.
