LeFlore County Courthouse

The 1926 LeFlore County Courthouse anchors the centre of Poteau on Courthouse Square. It is a three-storey Classical Revival building in pale brick and limestone, with a symmetrical front, tall arched windows on the ground floor, and the usual courthouse pediment. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The square around it is the closest thing Poteau has to a town centre — a couple of cafés, a few law offices, the old Hotel Lowrey across the street. Worth a five-minute wander when you are downtown.
