Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park

The Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park — known variously as the G.W. Zoo, Tiger King Park, and other names depending on its current ownership — sits about 5 miles west of Wynnewood on a rural property. It became internationally famous as the setting for the Netflix documentary Tiger King (2020), which chronicled the rivalry between its flamboyant founder and big-cat conservationists.

The park's status changes with ownership and legal circumstances, so check current conditions before visiting. At various times it has been open to visitors as a private zoo displaying big cats, bears, and other exotic animals. Whether it's operating as a tourist attraction, a rescue facility, or something in between, the property remains Wynnewood's most widely known landmark — for better or worse.

A story
The park became internationally known after the 2020 Netflix documentary "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness" made its founder Joe Exotic (Joseph Maldonado-Passage) a strange kind of celebrity. Maldonado-Passage was convicted of animal abuse and murder-for-hire charges in 2019 and sentenced to federal prison. The park subsequently changed ownership and name multiple times.
