Mingus Park

Lakeside park with arboretum and lit fountains at night

A few minutes' walk from downtown, Mingus Park centers on a small lake surrounded by an arboretum, playgrounds, and an oriental flower garden. Originally called Marshfield City Park when land was acquired in 1925, it was renamed in 1937 for Dr. Everett Mingus, whose work as chair of the Parks Commission shaped its development. Walkers circle the paved lakeside trail year-round, and the fountains at the center of the lake are lit at night.
