Newport's draws are spread along the coast on both sides of Yaquina Bay. North of the bridge: the Bayfront district, Nye Beach, Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, and the old Yaquina Bay Lighthouse at the river mouth. South of it: the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the Hatfield Marine Science Center, and the wide sand of South Beach State Park. Plan a day for each side if you can.
