Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site

Tolovana Beach, at the south end of Cannon Beach, is a state recreation site that effectively extends the main Cannon Beach strand further south. The beach here is slightly less busy than the area in front of town and Haystack Rock, which makes it a good choice for those who want more space. Another, smaller Haystack Rock (there are several along the Oregon coast — this one is not the famous 72-metre landmark) sits just offshore.

The parking area at Tolovana Beach has picnic facilities and direct beach access. It is connected to the main Cannon Beach beachfront by an unbroken stretch of sand, so you can walk between them at low tide. The state recreation site also provides the primary access point for the southern portion of the beach for visitors arriving by car.
