Manzanita Beach

Four miles of wide, dark-sand beach stretching south from the base of Neahkahnie Mountain toward Nehalem Bay. This is one of the least crowded stretches of sand on the Oregon coast — on weekdays in spring or fall you can walk for an hour and barely see another soul. The surf is consistent enough for experienced surfers, and the broad intertidal zone rewards beachcombers hunting for agates and sand dollars. Locals walk their dogs here at dusk; bonfires are common on summer evenings.
