Allentown sits in eastern Pennsylvania at the junction of several useful highways, including I-78, US-22, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension. It is about an hour and a half from Philadelphia by car in normal traffic.
Lehigh Valley International Airport is northeast of the city and serves the wider region. Intercity buses connect Allentown with Philadelphia, New York, and other Pennsylvania cities, but a car makes the Lehigh Valley much easier to explore.
