Hamilton Street is Allentown's traditional downtown spine. Its blocks hold banks, theaters, civic buildings, restaurants, and the newer arena district, making it the easiest place to read the city's changes on foot.
Some stretches are more lively than others. Walk it during the day or around an event, and look up at the older facades that survived the city's harder decades.
