Carlisle sits just off Interstate 81, about 20 miles west of Harrisburg. By car from Philadelphia it is roughly two hours; from Pittsburgh about two and a half. There is no direct train service to Carlisle — the nearest Amtrak station is Harrisburg, from which you would need a car or taxi to complete the journey. Harrisburg Airport (MDT) is the closest commercial airport, about 30 minutes east.
