Frick Art & Historical Center

The Frick Art & Historical Center is a cluster of museums and historic buildings around Clayton, the preserved home of industrialist Henry Clay Frick. The site includes the Frick Art Museum, the Car and Carriage Museum, and a greenhouse, so it rewards a slower visit more than a quick look.

Clayton is the heart of the complex, with rooms that show the domestic side of Pittsburgh's Gilded Age fortunes. The art museum and carriage collection broaden the story, moving from European painting to the machinery and display culture of wealthy American households.
