Salty Brine State Beach

Compact Narragansett state beach by Galilee's harbour and fishing boats.

Salty Brine State Beach is a small but very convenient strip of sand beside the harbour at Galilee. It lacks the sweep of Scarborough, but it has fishing boats, ferry traffic, seafood shacks, and protected water close by, which gives it a lively working-coast feel.

It is a practical beach rather than a wilderness escape. Come if you want an easy swim before or after eating in Galilee, watching the Block Island ferry, or exploring the more open beaches along the Narragansett shore.
