Wavering Place, also known historically as the Francis Tucker Hopkins House and as Magnolia, is an antebellum plantation house in the Gadsden community a few miles south of the village of Hopkins. The Greek Revival main house, with its tall columns and quiet, oak-shaded grounds, is one of the most intact period homes in Lower Richland County.
The property is privately owned and now operates as a small wedding and event venue, so casual visits are not possible — but the house is visible from the road and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
