Cleveland Downtown Historic District

The compact downtown grid around Ocoee Street, listed on the National Register

Cleveland's downtown historic district, listed on the National Register, fills a few blocks around the Bradley County Courthouse and Ocoee Street. The buildings are mostly late-Victorian and early-20th-century brick commercial blocks — banks, hardware shops, the Princess Theatre, the old Cherokee Hotel — broken by a handful of grand Greek Revival churches and the courthouse itself. The 1928 Cherokee Hotel has been restored as offices; the Five Points roundabout at the south end of Ocoee Street is the focus of summer street festivals.

It is small enough to walk in half an hour. A self-guided tour brochure is available at the visitor centre on Inman Street. Stop for coffee or a meal at one of the cafés on Inman or Broad Street.
