Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is one of Plano's best outdoor spaces, with trails through blackland prairie, wooded creek bottoms, and restored natural areas on the city's western side. It gives the suburbs a patch of breathing room that feels larger than its acreage suggests.
The preserve is especially good around sunrise or late afternoon, when the light is softer and the paved and unpaved trails are busy but pleasant. It pairs well with Oak Point Park as evidence that Plano's best attractions are often green rather than architectural.
