The historic downtown is walkable, but Plano is otherwise a car city. DART rail connects to Dallas and runs within the city, but most of Plano's restaurants and points of interest are spread across a suburban grid that requires a car or rideshare to navigate efficiently. Uber and Lyft are available throughout. Parking in the historic district is free and usually easy to find, even on weekends.
