Pineview Reservoir

Pineview Reservoir sits just north of Huntsville and is the centrepiece of outdoor recreation in the Ogden Valley. The reservoir was created by damming the Ogden River in 1937 and covers around 2,600 acres when full. In summer it becomes the valley's swimming and boating hub — powerboats, jet skis, and sailboats share the water with kayakers and paddleboarders, while campsites and picnic areas line the shore.

The fishing is reliable year-round: bass, yellow perch, tiger muskie, and rainbow trout are all caught here. Several boat ramps give easy access, and kayak rentals are available at Anderson Cove during summer. In winter the reservoir can freeze, and ice fishing is a local tradition. The surrounding mountains reflected in the water on calm mornings make Pineview one of the prettiest spots in northern Utah.
