Situated in the beautiful Ogden Valley, Huntsville is one of those small Utah towns that punches well above its size. The valley is ringed by mountains and three ski resorts — most notably Snowbasin, which hosted the 2002 Olympic downhill events. Pineview Reservoir provides boating, fishing, and camping through the summer months. The Trappist monastery at the north end of town is a place for solitude and reflection, and sells excellent honey and granola from its gift shop. The Shooting Star Saloon, open since 1879, is Utah's oldest continuously operating bar and a fine place to get a famous Star Burger.

Guide
Things to Do
Huntsville's attractions are mostly outdoors — skiing at three nearby resorts, boating and fishing on Pineview Reservoir, and hiking through the Monte Cristo mountains and surrounding Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The Trappist monastery offers a rare chance for quiet reflection, and the Shooting Star Saloon is a Utah institution.
