Utah's liquor laws have been liberalised in recent years, and Moab now has a proper bar scene by the standards of a small Western town. The main options are clustered on N. Main Street.
Woody's Tavern on N. Main is the oldest bar in Moab and the most reliably local-feeling: a no-frills place where guides, gear shop employees, and long-term residents drink alongside tourists. Pool tables, cheap beer, cold air conditioning.
Moab Brewery doubles as the best drinking spot in town, with a full range of locally brewed beers and a patio that fills in the evenings. The Scorpion Pale Ale and Dead Horse Amber are reliable choices.
The Spoke on Center is a more recent addition — a bike-themed bar near the centre of town that attracts the mountain biking crowd and has a good selection of craft beers.
For coffee, Love Muffin Cafe on N. Main is the local favourite: strong coffee, good baked goods, a patio, and tables where guides plan their days over espresso and breakfast burritos. Opens early.
