Monticello sits at the junction of US-191 and US-491, about 50 miles south of Moab and 50 miles north of Blanding. There is no commercial air service — the nearest airports are in Moab (a small regional airport with limited service) or Grand Junction, Colorado, about 140 miles northeast.
The town is an easy drive from Moab and makes a reasonable base or stopping point when traveling between Moab and the Four Corners area.
