Star Theatre

The Star Theatre on Main Street is a handsome two-story commercial building from the early 20th century, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built during Price's coal-boom years, it is representative of the architectural ambitions that a prosperous mining town could sustain in the 1910s and 1920s — a solidly built brick structure with ornamental detailing that still reads as the center of Main Street commerce.

It is worth a look as you walk the downtown block, alongside the Parker and Weeter Block and the historic post office nearby. Price's modest historic district doesn't take long to cover on foot, but it gives a clearer picture of what the town was built on than the surrounding strip development does.
