Wilmington has two peak seasons. Ski season runs from mid-December to early April; weekends from January through President's Day are the busiest, with Mount Snow drawing the New York and Boston crowds. Book accommodation well ahead.
Late September into mid-October is the foliage season — booked-out months in advance, with traffic on Route 9 backing up on perfect weekends. Summer (June to August) is much quieter, with cool nights, mountain biking, and a lively farmers' market on the village green. April (mud season) and November are the dead months; many restaurants close.
