Mount Tom

Low wooded mountain above Woodstock with village views and carriage-road trails

Mount Tom rises directly above Woodstock and gives the town its best easy hike. Trails and carriage roads climb through the forest to viewpoints over the village, the Ottauquechee River valley, and the surrounding hills.

The Faulkner Trail is the classic direct route from near the village, while the national historical park side offers a broader network of gentler paths. In autumn, the view from the slopes explains why Woodstock fills up.
