Ellensburg's best sights are walkable from a single downtown loop: the well-preserved historic district built after the 1889 fire, Dick and Jane's Spot, the Clymer Museum, and the rodeo grounds. The Central Washington campus on the northern edge of town adds a couple of museums and several leafy quads. The Kittitas Valley around the city is open ranch and farmland with good cycling and birding.
