A small, eccentric private garden on the south side of Sinclair Inlet, three miles out of Port Orchard on Highway 16. The headline attraction is a collection of more than 60 ancient bonsai — junipers, pines and other conifers up to a thousand years old, kept by the Robinson family — but the surrounding three acres are equally good: a stone garden, a koi pond, salvaged sculpture and a small art gallery, all set against a Puget Sound view.
It is the sort of place that rewards an unhurried wander rather than a quick photo stop. Admission is modest; closed in winter (open roughly Apr–Oct, Friday through Sunday). Combine with a slow lunch on the Port Orchard waterfront.
