Illahee State Park

A modest 82-acre state park on the bluff above Port Orchard Bay, north of East Bremerton. The headline feature is the largest yew tree in the United States — somewhere over 500 years old, fenced off near the picnic area — but the real draw is the beach and the small fishing pier, both reached by a short, steep trail down through the forest from the parking lot.

The park has 25 simple campsites, a kitchen shelter and a boat ramp, and is a popular spot for crabbing in season. The bluff-top viewpoint catches the sunrise over the Cascades; the beach below gets the evening sun on the Olympic Mountains opposite. Discover Pass required.
