Ocean Shores Interpretive Center

The Ocean Shores Interpretive Center, run by the Grays Harbor Audubon Society, sits near the northern tip of the Ocean Shores peninsula at the Point Brown Avenue end. It is a small but well-organized natural history center focused on the ecology of the peninsula, the adjoining wetlands, and the coastal migration corridor.

The interpretive displays cover the seasonal shorebird migrations — this stretch of coast is part of the Pacific Flyway and hosts significant numbers of Western sandpipers, dunlins, and other species during spring and fall. Staff and volunteers can point you to the best current birding spots along the beach and the interconnected ponds. If you are new to birding, this is a good place to borrow a scope and get oriented before heading out to the wildlife refuges.
